As someone who is living a vastly different life from the one I was raised in, I both personally and professionally understand the relief and joy that finding your path can bring. I emphasize embracing authenticity and living a life that makes you feel good.
I rely heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you create change. CBT is a framework, along with a suite of tools and exercises designed to help us change the way we feel. Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors work intimately together in a complex system where each can affect the others. It can be hard to change how we feel, but through exploration and evidence-based CBT exercises, we can change the way we think and act—so that’s what we start with. We will work to create situations and mindsets that help you feel better. Throughout the process, your feelings will begin to mirror your thoughts and actions.
Therapy with me begins with a short Zoom consult in which we will learn a bit about each other and decide together if we should move forward and schedule an intake. The intake will be a 45 minute session in which I’ll inquire about your mental health history, relationships, and lifestyle in order to learn more about you and your goals. I offer an inclusive, practical, and insightful environment where we will build a toolkit of strategies to help you toward your goals. The work is all done together; I’ll be the guide and support, while you plot the course and determine the pace.
